Donna Wilson takes inspiration from her childhood growing up in the Scottish countryside and the everyday oddities and deformities of life to create a fairytale like world of textiles and prints. Soft, feather interior can be removed for cold water washing.

About the designer

Donna Wilson

Donna has always loved making things, drawing and being creative. She studied textiles at Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen and received her MA in Mixed Media and Constructed Textiles at The Royal College of Art in London where she first had a bit of success with her now well-known collection of knitted creatures. She then started her company just out of college in 2003. Although she now lives and works in London, much of her inspiration comes from her memories of her childhood growing up on a farm in Aberdeenshire in the North East Scotland. The beautiful landscape and fresh air and her love of the Scottish countryside have influenced her use texture and organic forms in her work that remind her of home. She is also committed to making things that will last, especially decorative cushions, to using 100% natural fibers, and to hiring UK artisans as much as possible. Donna likes to feel that she is doing her bit to keep the declining UK manufacturing industry alive. Recently crowned as 'Designer of the Year' by Elle Decoration Design Awards, Donna runs her studio and workshop in East London.
