About the designer
London-based designer Charlene Mullen is recognized for over 15 years of work for well-known fashion houses. This original collection of decorative cushions is the fruit of her collaboration with design firm De La Espada. De La Espada is a pioneer in developing powerful brands for high end home furnishings consumers around the world. The firm, founded by Luis De Oliveira and Fatima De La Espada in 1993, works with some of today’s most exciting international designers including London-based Matthew Hilton, Studioilse and Charlene Mullen, Istanbul-based Autoban, Copenhagen-based Søren Rose Studio, and Japanese design studio Leif.designpark. Each designer maintains creative control, curating their product line, art directing and developing the products. Hailing from Porto and Madrid respectively and educated in London, the founders opened the first De La Espada store in London in 1996, when there was comparatively little quality contemporary furniture in the city. The dedicated factory in Portugal specializes in hand crafted and traditional construction methods to create modern furniture with timeless appeal.
